Kenton County Subdivision Regulations
The most recent version of the Kenton County Subdivision Regulations was adopted in 2015 with amendments in 2022, and were designed to help create harmonious, progressive, and aesthetically pleasing development and promote the health, safety, and general welfare of Kenton County. One component of the subdivision regulations is the identification of infrastructure and design standards for all new streets in Kenton County. These regulations include the width and location of sidewalks, streets, and have requirements for multi-use paths or dedicated bike lanes on certain new collector or arterial streets.
Prior to the development of these new regulations in 2015, requirements for sidewalks, multi-use paths, or dedicated bike lanes were not as robust, and many new developments lacked these types of facilities. The new regulations have an added emphasis on bicycle and pedestrian facilities and recognize their importance in new development.
